Read. Know.
This is what Scientologists do, and how they do it. Don't fall victim to their ploys.
The wheels of dissension are turning, it's our duty to keep it that way.

Is the end nigh? Only time will tell.
| I saw this on the front page, and thought it would be fun for a change to tear into some morons I DON'T go to school with.
Everyone is brand conscious to some extent, regardless of whether or not you think you are. It could be for a dumb reason like this one guy below me who says that some companies are evil and should be avoided (wtf?) or for some other reason, perhaps to appear trendy (or for you scenesters, untrendy and counter-culture) or cultured.
Irregardless, with most products, there are varying degrees of quality in products, which don't necessarily follow branding lines, and to say that one brand is intrinsically BETTER than another, just that with most lines of products worth caring about quality in (Electronics, mainly), something expensive will generally be better fo0r the end-user than something less-expensive, perhaps with a price modifier for branding. For example, the iPod. I fucking hate these things, not because they're Apple-branded, not because they're trendy, but because they're not worth the investment. They lack some features that less expensive media players have built in from the get-go, and also are more expensive thanm those counterparts, sometimes by a very wide margin, because of the implied superiority of owning a trendier product.
As for myself, I'm not brand conscious, rather value-conscious, unless quality is more important than value, which it is in some rare cases. For example, If I need gas for my car, I don't give a shit where I get it as long as it's the cheapest, all gasoline is essentially the same. On the other hand, if i'm interested in a guitar, I have to know where it's made, as that's a huge factor in the probable quality of the instrument. American companies' American-made guitars and Japanese companies' MIJ products will generally be of higher quality than a guitar made in China that has the same features. On a third side of this argument, the manufacturers that make them sometimes are not of a uniform quality. Dean Zelinsky guitars, for example. They're American made instruments at the upper price bracket, but less expensive Dean-branded guitars are manufactured in china and are of abysmal quality some of the time (but china's getting better), but that debunks the theory you may form that one brand is of a quality superior to another 100% of the time.

| If you were a scientist recruited by the government to work on some secret project, would you want to be in: an Installation? a Laboratory? a Compound? an Institution? or a Facility? Rank them from 1 to 5, 1 being your preference. and why was #1 your first choice??
for the sake of the question, all are identical, procedure and equipment-wise, the only differences are the names.

I'm sorry. Please forgive me.
I've
been having a rough month or two, especially since moving back out
here, and it has manifested it in my outward appearance and
presentation. Some of you I've touched on this matter with, others I
have not. I've made some changes, and hopefully I'll be back to my
usual slightly-less-obnoxious self in a few days.
In the meantime, you should talk to me. I've been depressed, and could use a friend.
